About Us

Two people. One obsession. Fintech.

FintechSpecs started with a simple idea: there’s a lot happening in fintech, and most of it is buried under jargon, press releases, and surface-level coverage that doesn’t help the people actually building or buying these products.

We’re two fintech enthusiasts who got tired of that. So we built this blog.

Why We Started FintechSpecs

We’ve spent years following the fintech space — watching it evolve from a niche corner of finance into one of the most exciting and complex industries in the world. Payment infrastructure, banking-as-a-service, embedded finance, fraud detection, merchant-of-record platforms, pricing models, compliance tooling — there’s always something new to dig into.

But here’s what we kept running into: when we wanted clear, practical, honest information about a fintech tool or trend, we couldn’t find it. Most articles were either too shallow, too biased, or written by people who clearly hadn’t used the products they were recommending.

So we decided to do it ourselves. Share what we know, learn out loud, and build a resource we actually wished existed.

FintechSpecs is operated under Perki Solutions, our parent company, but it runs as an independent editorial publication. No fintech platform, payment processor, or investor owns or influences our coverage.

What We Cover

FintechSpecs is focused on the parts of fintech that matter most to founders, operators, and product teams building or scaling SaaS and digital businesses. That includes:

  • Guides — Practical, step-by-step explainers on fintech topics
  • Tools — Reviews and roundups of the platforms, APIs, and services shaping the industry
  • Comparisons — Side-by-side breakdowns to help you choose what fits your business
  • News — What’s happening in fintech and what it means for builders
  • Reviews — Honest takes on the products we’ve tried, tested, or researched deeply

We write for SaaS founders, fintech product teams, finance operators, and anyone curious about how money moves in the modern internet economy.

What We Don’t Cover

FintechSpecs is built for fintech operators and SaaS builders, not for general consumers. To stay useful to that audience, we don’t cover personal banking advice, individual investment recommendations, retail consumer fintech apps, or personal credit, loans, and insurance decisions. Nothing on this site should be read as financial, legal, tax, or investment advice for individuals.

How We Work

Everything we publish is researched carefully. We read documentation, test products where we can, talk to people who use them, and try to give you the kind of clear-eyed analysis we’d want if we were in your shoes.

We’re not trying to be the loudest voice in fintech. We’re trying to be one of the most useful.

Articles on FintechSpecs are written by named authors. Our current writers are Jessica Hernandez, who covers payments, fraud, risk, and compliance tooling, and Michael Carter, who covers pricing, banking-as-a-service, and payment infrastructure. As the blog grows, we’re bringing in more contributors who share the same obsession — writers and operators with real experience in the space.

Our Promise

  • Honest opinions, even when they’re inconvenient. If a popular tool isn’t great, we’ll say so. If a lesser-known one is excellent, we’ll tell you why.
  • No fluff. We respect your time. Every article should give you something you can actually use.
  • No hidden agendas. When we use affiliate links, we say so. Our recommendations are based on merit, not commissions.
  • Always learning. Fintech moves fast. We do our best to keep up and update our content as the landscape shifts.
